Brochure Sizes, Folds and Printing Cost in India

Brochure Sizes, Folds and Printing Cost in India

The most common brochure sizes in India are A4, A5 and DL. Most brochures start as an A4 sheet: folded once it becomes an A5 bi-fold, and folded twice it becomes a DL tri-fold that fits in a hand or an envelope. With us, printing costs ₹12.50 to ₹28.44 per brochure for 25 to 3,000 pieces, and less than ₹4.50 each in bulk from 3,000.

Here we explain each size in millimetres and inches, the difference between bi-fold, tri-fold and Z-fold, how to set up your artwork, and what brochure printing costs.

DL99 x 210 mm3.9 x 8.3 inTri-fold brochures, offers, rate cards and handouts

When a printer quotes a brochure size, check whether it is the flat size or the folded size. An "A5 bi-fold" usually means it is A5 once folded and opens out to A4.

Bi-fold, tri-fold or Z-fold?

A bi-fold brochure is folded once down the middle, which gives four pages: a front cover, two inside pages and a back. The large inside spread suits photos, a company profile or a catalogue of a few products.

A tri-fold brochure is folded twice so that the two outer panels close over the middle one, like a letter. It has six narrow panels and fits easily in a hand, a pocket or a DL envelope, which is why clinics, restaurants and real estate offices use it so often. The panel that folds inside is made 2 to 3 mm narrower than the others so it tucks in neatly.

A Z-fold is also folded twice, but in a zigzag, so it opens out like an accordion and all three panels are the same width. It is good for a step-by-step story or a map. We print Z-fold as a folded flyer.

Brochure, pamphlet or flyer: what is the difference?

A flyer is a single flat sheet, printed on one or both sides. In India, pamphlet is often used for the same thing: a single sheet handed out in markets or slipped into newspapers. A brochure is folded into panels or pages, so it holds more information and feels more substantial. If you want people to keep it, and not just glance at it, a brochure is the better choice.

How to set up your brochure artwork

  • Design at the flat size, with every panel laid out in order. For an A4 tri-fold, that is three panels side by side on each face.
  • Add 3 mm of bleed on every edge, so the colour runs right to the edge after trimming.
  • Keep text and logos at least 5 mm away from the trimmed edges and from every fold line.
  • Remember the panel order on a tri-fold. The front cover is the right-hand panel of the outside face, and the left-hand panel on that face is the first one people see when they open it.
  • Use images of at least 300 pixels per inch at print size, and send a PDF so fonts and colours stay as you designed them.

Which paper should you choose?

We print brochures on 170 gsm or 220 gsm paper, with a matte or glossy finish.

170 gsm is a good everyday weight. It folds cleanly, keeps the cost down and is easy to hand out in large numbers. 220 gsm is thicker and stiffer, so it feels premium and stands up better on a counter or in a display stand. Choose it for company profiles and anything you give to important clients.

The finish does not change the price. Glossy makes photos and colours look brighter. Matte has no glare, looks more understated and is easier to write on.

Brochure printing cost in India

Our prices per brochure in October 2026 are below. Bi-fold and tri-fold cost the same, and so do matte and glossy. Delivery is free anywhere in India.

25 to 49₹23.80₹28.44₹21.88₹26.16
100 to 249₹19.49₹23.36₹17.90₹21.48

2,500 to 3,000₹13.66₹16.48₹12.50₹15.11

So 100 DL tri-fold brochures on 170 gsm cost about ₹1,790, and 1,000 cost about ₹13,900.

For 3,000 brochures or more, our bulk brochures are printed on offset presses and cost ₹4.50 or less per brochure, depending on the size and fold. Offset printing has a higher set-up cost but a much lower cost per piece, which is why it only makes sense for large runs, such as mailers, event handouts and newspaper inserts.

Production takes 3 to 5 days and delivery another 3 to 10 days, depending on your city.
