Roll-Up Standee Size Guide and How to Set One Up
In India, roll-up standees come in two standard sizes: 2 x 5 ft (61 x 152 cm) and 2.5 x 6 ft (76 x 183 cm). The smaller one suits shop counters, clinics and small stalls. The taller one is the usual pick for exhibitions and events, because it can be seen over people's heads.
Here we cover every common size, the artwork size to design at, how to set a standee up and pack it away, and what one costs.
Roll-up standee sizes in India
| Size (feet) | Centimetres | Inches | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 x 5 ft | 61 x 152 cm | 24 x 60 in | Shop counters, clinic and hospital receptions, small stalls, office lobbies |
| 2.5 x 6 ft | 76 x 183 cm | 30 x 72 in | Exhibitions, trade shows, events, college fests, product launches |
| 3 x 6 ft | 91 x 183 cm | 36 x 72 in | Large stalls and stage sides |
Sizes are always written as width x height, so a 2 x 5 ft standee is 2 feet wide and 5 feet tall.
Which size should you choose?
Go for 2 x 5 ft if the standee will stand near a counter or an entrance, or anywhere space is tight. Its message sits at eye level for someone standing close to it.
Go for 2.5 x 6 ft for events. At 6 feet the top of the banner stays visible above a crowd, and the extra width leaves room for a bigger headline and a product photo.
If you need more presence at a large stall, two standees side by side often work better than one very wide display. Each one stays easy to carry, and you can move them apart if the stall layout changes on the day.
What size should the artwork be?
Design at the full size of the standee, at a minimum of 100 pixels per inch. That works out to:
| Standee size | Minimum artwork size |
|---|---|
| 2 x 5 ft | 2400 x 6000 pixels |
| 2.5 x 6 ft | 3000 x 7200 pixels |
A few things make a standee easier to read:
- Keep the logo and headline in the top third, at eye level, where people look first.
- Stay under 30 words. Most people read a standee in a few seconds while walking past.
- Make the headline readable from 3 metres away, with a bold, simple font and strong contrast.
- Avoid putting anything important at the very bottom. That part sits close to the floor and is often hidden behind people or tables, so place phone numbers and QR codes at chest height.
- Send us a PDF or a high-resolution image. A small logo copied from a website will look blurred at 6 feet.
How to set up a roll-up standee
- Take the base out of the carry bag and lay it flat on the floor, printed side up. Turn out the feet underneath so it stands steady.
- Join the sections of the pole and fit its bottom end into the hole at the back of the base.
- Hold the top rail with both hands and pull the banner up slowly. It is spring-loaded, so don't let go halfway.
- Hook the top rail onto the tip of the pole. The banner should now hang tight and flat.
- Check that it stands straight, and keep it away from doors and fans that could push it over.
To pack it away, hold the top rail, unhook it and let the banner roll slowly back into the base. If it snaps back on its own, the print and the roller can get damaged. Then take the pole apart and put everything back in the bag.
Can you use a standee outdoors?
Roll-up standees are made for indoor use. You can take one outside for a short time in calm weather, but the banner catches wind like a sail and even a light breeze can tip it over. For a display that stays outdoors, a flex banner tied to a frame or wall is a better choice. For a rigid sign on an indoor wall, use a sun board poster.

Frequently asked questions
What is the standard size of a roll-up standee in India?
The two standard sizes are 2 x 5 ft (61 x 152 cm) and 2.5 x 6 ft (76 x 183 cm). Some larger displays use 3 x 6 ft.
How do you open a roll-up standee?
Lay the base flat and turn out its feet, fit the pole into the base, then pull the banner up slowly by its top rail and hook it onto the top of the pole.
What is the difference between a standee and a banner?
A standee stands on its own base and rolls back into it, so it is easy to carry and suits indoor events. A banner is hung or tied up, comes in much larger sizes and is meant for long-term outdoor display.
What resolution should standee artwork be?
At least 100 pixels per inch at full size. That is 2400 x 6000 pixels for 2 x 5 ft and 3000 x 7200 pixels for 2.5 x 6 ft.
Can I order just one standee?
Yes. On the 2 x 5 ft size, the price per standee also drops as soon as you order two or more.
